For runners and walkers – with or without dog companions – a nature run through the Franconian countryside

The ROE-CROSS offers every runner the perfect distance to match
their goals. All routes can be viewed directly on Komoot, where
GPX files are also available for download to navigation devices
or running watches.
The 4 km distance consists of two laps of the 2 km
course.
The 11.4 km distance includes two laps of the 5.7 km base
course, and the 22.8 km distance covers the same base course
over four laps.

Suitable running shoes
Race bib (worn visibly on the front)
Fully charged smartphone
Additionally for Canicross runners:
For the 11.4 km and 22.8 km distances: running belt or hip belt with an attachment point for the towline (back-friendly)
Safe and controlled handling of the dog at all times
At least two waste bags carried during the run
For the 2 km, 4 km, and 5.7 km distances: running with the leash in hand is allowed, but the dog must always wear a suitable harness (no collar!)
For the 11.4 km and 22.8 km distances: a properly fitted pulling harness (Canicross / sled dog harness) with no chafing, and a towline with shock absorber (typically 1.5–2 m when stretched) are mandatory
Legally required vaccinations (proof upon request)
Liability insurance (proof upon request)
Dog must be healthy and fit to run (no puppies, no sick animals)
Mandatory equipment will be checked at random. Missing required items will result in disqualification and exclusion from the start, with no refund of the entry fee.
To ensure that both runners and dogs feel comfortable, all
Canicross runners and teams start individually at
intervals of approximately 30 seconds.
This helps to reduce stress, prevent excessive excitement, and
avoid any potential conflicts between dogs at the start.
All other distances for runners and walkers without dogs will take place as a mass start. All distances will start together. Participants running multiple laps are responsible for keeping track of their own laps.

Water is available for both runners and dogs at the
start/finish area and at the end of
each lap.
Runners are responsible for keeping track of their own
number of laps.
Would you like to run together on the Canicross course – for example as a Canicross team, or if a runner wants to accompany a Canicross participant?
Here’s how it
works: Each participant must first
register individually for their desired
distance and category.
👉 Example: The Canicross runner registers for their distance in
the Canicross category, the accompanying runner or
walker registers for the same distance in the Runner
or Walker category.
After the registration fee has been paid and your participation has been confirmed by us, please send us a short e-mail including the following details for all participants: Full name, date of birth, and place of residence.
We will then schedule a shared start time for you within the Canicross start window.
Important: Participants without a dog who run
on the Canicross course will not appear in the Canicross
results, but in the results of the corresponding running
distance. To ensure accurate timing, we must receive this
information before the event – otherwise, a start on the
Canicross course with official time recording is not possible.
Please inform us about this shortly after your registration, so
we can enter it correctly in the timing system.
Send your e-mail with the information about which
runners (name, date of birth, place of residence) wish to start
together on the Canicross course.
Your certificate with finish time will be conveniently sent to the email address provided during registration after the event.
Changing rooms, restrooms, and shower facilities will be available after the race in the multi-purpose hall.
Those who give their all will be rewarded: The three fastest participants in each category (runners/walkers or canicross runners) and distance will be honored in an award ceremony after the event. In addition to the finisher medal, the winner of each distance and category will receive a small gift as a keepsake of their athletic achievement.
